Hera and the squad of X wings scour the planet but find no sign of Ahsoka or Sabine. Hera touches down at the henge and sees Huyang at the cliff holding on to Sabine’s helmet.
Ahsoka comes face to face with Anakin, who says that he’s there to finally complete her training. The two of them duel before Anakin slices up the platform they are standing on, sending her tumbling down into nothingness.
She wakes up and finds herself in an old memory of a battle from the Clone Wars. Anakin tries to guide her through the war but she pushes back against his teachings.
This goes on until Ahsoka faces up against a turned Anakin. She successfully disarms him but chooses not to kill him, causing him to turn back to normal and tell her that there’s still hope for her.
Captain Teva tells Hera that they must head back and give the Senate a reason for making this unauthorized trip. Hera is ready to do that until Jacen senses something from the edge of the cliff.
Based on his feelings, they carry out a search close to the surface of the ocean and eventually find Ahsoka in the water, after she finishes her lesson with Anakin.
She wakes up the next day and Hera asks her where Sabine is. Ahsoka holds the broken map in her hand and tries to sense what happened, seeing how things unfolded between Sabine and Baylan.
Carson tells Hera that the fleet is headed to Seatos and when Hera speaks to Chancellor Mothma, she is told that her command is at risk for disobeying orders.
Ahsoka is contemplating how to find Sabine when she notices the purrgil flying above her. She tells Hera that she has an idea about how to find Sabine.
She uses her force abilities to talk to the purrgil, while Carson tries to stall the fleet. Ahsoka convenes with the largest of the purrgil and it opens its mouth so that Huyang can set their ship down inside.
The pod of purrgil then leave the planet before jumping into hyperspace, as Ahoska promises Hera that she will find Sabine and Ezra.
- This episode is a lot slower and felt like a downgrade on the previous one, although there were some great moments. The score is once again unrivaled and sets up some absolutely wonderful scenes.
- The flashback set piece between Anakin and Ahsoka could have been so much better but it is a letdown due to the fact that Anakin is quite vague in his lessons and by the end, it is mostly unclear what she as supposed to learn.
- The fact that the term purrgil has already been established for the creatures and they were still referred to as whales is a minor oversight that should have been avoided.
- The color palette is also wonderful, with Ahsoka’s predominantly white attire following her lesson quite significant in her arc.
