Jujutsu kaisen season 2 episode 7 recap & review: Evening Festival

[ad_1]

In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 7, Muta’s battle with Mahito comes to a close before a dark curtain descends upon Shibuya.

Recap

Muta deploys his cursed energy that has been accrued over sixteen years in the battle with Mahito. His ultimate Mechamaru emerges as a strong contender but Mahito is a beast.

Muta turns the tables when he hires a cursed missile at Mahito, which actually manages to take a part of his soul away. Mahito then uses Domain Expansion and tarps Mechamaru, and Muta within it.

Muta subverts expectations again and uses the simple domain to dispel Mahito’s domain and also hurt him significantly, seemingly killing him. However, Muta quickly gets ahead of himself.

Mahito is alive and launches an attack on Muta who is about to use his cursed energy missile on Geto. Muta is killed as he thinks back on what Miwa once told him about getting to know everyone more.

Soon, some civilians on the night of Halloween observe a dark veil enveloping a large radius. Sorcerer teams are deployed at the entrances.

All the people within it are trapped, with some of them getting sucked inside the subway. As Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 7 rolls the credits, Gojo enters the veil.

Review

  • Muta does his best only to realize he’s not the main character enough to yield significant results on a cursed energy-fueled mecha.
  • His death is far too transient and fleeting, making it seem like a routine thing in the show.
  • The Shibuya arc has officially begun and one can only be terrified at the grim affairs that lie ahead in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2.
