In the sixth episode of My Demon, Do-hee and Gu-won get married after Do-hee chooses Gu-won over Seok-hoon. The episode is now streaming on Netflix.

Recap

When Do-hee is attacked at her home, she manages to send an SOS message to her emergency contacts. Gu-won comes to her rescue as soon as he gets the message.

The assailant hides when he sees Gu-won coming and then attacks him as well. Gu-won then uses his powers to teleport them outside Do-hee’s apartment and saves them both.

Seok-hoon also gets Do-hee’s message and rushes to her house. He gets upset when he sees her with Gu-won. The three of them then check the CCTV footage and notice that while the attacker does not look like the man who attacked Do-hee on her birthday, he has the same scars as him.

This brings them to the conclusion that the attacker has been hiding his real face, which is why Gu-won was unable to find him using his powers. Seok-hoon surmises that Gu-won and Do-hee are hiding something from him and questions Gu-won about it.

Gu-won does not tell Seok-hoon anything, but he does make it clear that Seok-hoon is not the only person on Do-hee’s side. Seok-hoon sees how terrified Do-hee is after getting attacked once more and tells her that she does not have to go through this alone.

Seok-hoon asks Do-hee to marry him, and he is not the only one. Gu-won also proposes marriage to her right then and there. Do-hee must choose between them, so she asks them for some time to make her choice.

The next morning, Seok-hoon visits Do-hee and confesses his feelings for her. While Do-hee has only ever considered him family, Seok-hoon has had feelings for Do-hee for a long time now. He tells Do-hee that they can get married first and work out the rest with time.

Gu-won, who has gone back to working as Do-hee’s bodyguard, gets jealous when he sees Do-hee and Seok-hoon together. When Seok-hoon accuses Gu-won of playing with Do-hee’s feelings, Gu-won tells him that he is not fooling around anymore.

Do-hee never attends company events that she considers superficial. However, she makes an exception to inform Madam Ju’s family that she is getting married the next day. She also spots her attacker at the event.

Do-hee decides to marry Gu-won because when she questions him about his reasons for proposing, he explains that he proposed because he doesn’t want her to die. Theirs is a marriage of convenience. They sign a contract, which will expire when they both achieve their goals.

Madam Ju’s family comes to the wedding, and it is revealed that Suk-min has planned something to prevent Do-hee from becoming the chairperson. Furthermore, Do-gyeong’s behavior makes Do-hee suspect him of trying to kill her.

Do-hee tells Seok-hoon that she did not marry him because he is her family. Despite that, Seok-hoon promises her that he will always be on her side, no matter what. Seok-hoon then starts digging into Gu-won’s Sunwol Foundation.

Seok-hoon is not the only one who is left heartbroken. The news of Do-hee and Gu-won’s marriage upsets Jin Ga-young as well. Meanwhile, Do-hee and Gu-won move into their new house and start living like a married couple. Gu-won also dreams about the time he was human.

While Seok-hoon is trying to find more information about Cha Tae-jun and his murder, Do-hee and Gu-won tail Do-gyeong. In the previous episode, Do-hee’s attacker left something for the person he is working for in a public locker.

In this episode, Do-gyeong goes to check the same locker. However, he finds it empty. He then realizes that he is being followed and almost catches Do-hee and Gu-won.

Review

  • Do-hee and Gu-won are equally sassy and confident in this episode. They are both smug characters, but the show still manages to make them likable.
  • Despite Do-hee and Gu-won’s marriage being one of convenience, the episode still treats the audience to a beautiful wedding. It is visually appealing and even a little humorous.
  • The episode adds a touch of emotion to the wedding by depicting an imaginary conversation between Madam Ju and Do-hee. The conversation is used to make Madam Ju’s absence felt.
  • Heo Jung-do, who plays Mr. Park, and Seo Jung-yeon, who plays Ms. Shin, have impeccable comic timing in this episode. They do not get much screen time, but they make the best of what they get.
