Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 13 recap & review: Red Scale

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 13 sees Choso launch a supersonic attack on Yuji before the two properly engage in a ferocious battle.

Recap

Yuji runs off and stumbles upon a horde of people being attacked by curses. Inumaki arrives and assures he’ll take care of it. Yuji advances ahead.

He’s halted by Choso, who instantly launches his blood manipulation attack, catching Yuji off guard but he manages to gain composure.

He then has a hard time contending with Choso’s mighty attacks when he reveals that his brothers cried before dying when Choso asks if they had any last words.

Mechamaru reawakens and devises an idea, leading Yuji to the bathroom and then provoking Choso to go there as well. The bathroom is flooded, Mechamaru’s robot is destroyed, and Choso is angry.

His blood manipulation attacks no longer work because the water renders Choso’s outer blood incapable of forming clots. However, he rages through it and pierces Yuji’s liver, believing he’s got him good.

However, as freakish of a brute, as Yuji is, he stands up and refuses to succumb to the grave injury and retaliate. He puts up a commendable resistance and fight but his deciding fist attack is blocked by Choso’s hardened body.

Choso spends no time in knocking Yuji out, who falls unconscious but breathes still. This irks and disappoints Sukuna.

Choso goes to finish the job when he’s inflicted with a flood of memories of him enjoying a feast with his brothers and Yuji, all cherishing in delight the moment. He’s disoriented and bumbles his way out of there, struggling to cope with the headache.

The Hasaba sisters find the unconscious Yuji and plan to do something before Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 13 ends.

Review

  • Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 delivers yet another banger with episode 13 as Choso and Yuji square off in a very impactful and thrilling fight.
  • Choso’s attacks are unrelenting and the way they overwhelm Yuji not only cements him as a mighty character but also one who carries a lot of panache to be able to finesse a freak like Yuji.
  • Mechamaru comes in clutch and helps a lot but it’s a bit worrisome when the robot is destroyed. Is that the last remaining robotic piece of soul carrier that just got crushed?
  • The Hasaba sisters are up to something and it seems that Sukuna is going to be resurfacing pretty soon.
